And then serial murders of women lead a trail to New England. The Feds have found two profiles for the over forty women murdered and two weapons used but insist it is the same murderer. Both weapons used infer a military connection. Beryl Kent, obstructive bane of the Captain, respected Attorney Norberto Cull and Kent’s special friend Retired Colonel Nate Connault involve themselves in the investigation. Beauregard and the reader suspect a person of interest but as often happens Beauregard’s hands are tied by limited information disallowing use of search warrants. He typically gets creative and develops a plan. It backfires in a most unusual way but results in an unexpected capture.
